Had to wait for almost an hour standing in the ticketing section. I booked and it was confirmed through email and text message that I am scheduled for Dumaguete-Siquijor that day, and then when I was about to get our ticket seat, I was informed that they have in there is not for Siquijor but is bound to go to Tagbilaran. Im not gonna question about the error that had happended because I would say, it was an honest mistake. I don't think someone would do that that on purpose. My point is, they could have called the costumer service directly to get my problem sort out but they didn't. I was one of the first few people in the line for the ticket sit but was the last one to be given a ticket because as what they said, they are still waiting for the costumer service's response. After almost an hour of waiting, and in that time, all passengers are called for boarding. I went to them to try asking if it was all sort out or what because nobody did approach us about it. And when I did the girl did was look at the computer, type something and then not more than 3mins, it was done. I dont think it was all sort out the same time I had to get to them to ask about the ticket. They had it all sort out but no one even tried to tell us about it, I was not even seated far away from them. What a disaster for a first timer of your ferry.
Arrived at the port and security told me the boat trip is cancelled, port staff said the same and they all advices to buy a new ticket on a different company called OceanJet. Information desk was pretty adamant for me to buy the new ticket. No one helped me to understand what was happening. After some point I found the ticket office of HS Star Marine and they were closed, but at some point they open and said ‘no worry go to the terminal and the boat is not canceled.’ I waited one more hour without hearing any announcement and terminal information staff was not aware that the trip was happening. During this time, I heard many OceanJet announcements, but nothing for our trip. Finally 5 minutes before boarding time, a security guy called us to join the boat. Very bizarre boarding process but we finally departed. Overall they should improve their information to customers :)
