Booked a sleeper bus from Cat Ba to Hue. The first leg went well, the bus showed up on time. The driving was a little fast and aggressive but that's not surprising here. However, when we got to the stop in Tam Coc we were told that our sleeper bus wasn't going to be here for an hour, this was around 20:30. No big deal, we went and got dinner and walked around a bit. Got back to the office 10 minutes before the bus was supposed to arrive, but we were told it would be another 30 minutes (arriving at 22:00). The sign on the front of the office said the bus leaves Tam Coc at 20:30, but the employee kept telling us that the bus normally leaves at 21:30. We waited until 22:00, then he said another 30 minutes. At this point we were very tired and doubtful that the bus would come at a decent time to get to sleep (we're lame and go to bed early lol) so we were ready to just cut our losses, book a hotel, and get a train the next day. While we were discussing this with the employee he showed us on his phone that the driver's location was actually 30 minutes away. The bus finally shows up a little before 22:30 and we get on. Our bus was about two hours later than we were told, and the whole time we were told "30 more minutes". This company was very disorganized and I wish they just told us up front how late the bus would be so we could make an informed decision. Seems like they need better coordination between bus transfers. Also, I would much rather the sleeper bus drive smoothly and safely than jerk us around all night while honking constantly to save a little time. Seems like the driver didn't even have time to pee based on the pee bottles on the floor.

We were placed in a full bus obviously built for Vietnamese. My knees were jammed against the partition behind the drivers seat. After 4 hours we were to transfer to our overnight bus except the driver wasn't sure where to drop us. We were dropped at an office who directed us to a Full moon office. They walked us to another Full moon office where we were told that someone would pick us up in 15 minutes. Sometime over 15 minutes passed when a man appeared off the street and told us to follow him. We walked to the bus station in the rain and eventually the bus, belonging to some random bus company, arrived. When we got into our beds I found that none of the lights worked in my area Also, although their was a toilet, the occupied indicator was permanently on and the door wouldn't lock but it did jam. The bus arrived 2 hours early. There was no communication with the driver at any point.
