Bus stopped after midnight to eat and bathroom break. Seating made for Asian height, taller people have to twist body & legs. Bus driver hurrying people off at 5am. Company at the shuttle bus switch were unprepared for the number of people.. they had to call multiple shuttles and it was a hectic scramble. No other options, just preparing you for what to expect.
The operators were not very clear on which buses were for who at the start of the journey. Also the toilet onboard was extremely smelly and we had to endure this for.10 hours.
Ultimately they got us to our destination on time but not before trying to sell us additional services. Definitely.wasnt the smoothest experience but reflective of the price.
Fand am Anfang alles in Ordnung, obwohl der Bus mit einer Stunde Verspätung ankam. Haben im Bus auch Chips und Wasser bekommen. Dann fing der Fahrer aber an neben bei noch einheimische Fahrgäste einzusammeln und an unterschiedlichen Standorten rauszulassen, die definitiv nicht auf unserer Route lagen.
The bus and the boat were both on time. The bus is extremely comfortable but the trip is overall very long, with a lot of waiting (for the bot once you reach the pier and then in Koh Thao to board other passengers).
The people at the surat thani store tried to scam everyone with an ,express‘ ticket , they dont answer to questions, they only tried to sell their expensive tickets before they gave us the (already paid) fery tickets IN THE LAST MINUTE before the van to the fery leaved!! Eventhough the ,express ticket‘ wasn‘t even faster or better, they just had a bigger bus but thats all! But they wanted us to think that you HAVE to buy this special ticket to get to the fery, so the people panicked and bought it! Be carefull, dont buy anything from them after you leave the bus from bangkok to surat thani!!! All in all everything worked well, no complains about the other parts of the trip!
The airconditioning in the bus was too cold. You couldn't turn it of completely or sent it the other direction. I had to wear a shirt, a shirt with long sleeves and a sweater. There weren't any stops neither..they didn't inform us about any stops.
Also the point of departure was not clear, the cabdriver didn't knew where to drop me exactly. So I had to walk and search for 50 meters with all my lugage.

I took the nighttravel option to Kho Phangan and it was great, we arrived on point and the bus as well as the ferry was very comfortable.
You can really be chillin there but I heard the ferryride can also be uncomfortable if the weather is stormy so maybe look out for that if you’re sensitive.
The transfer from BKK to Koh Phangan was smooth. I bought a VIP ticket and the bus was super spacious, comfortable and we even got some snacks- a muffin, apple juice and water and blanket too. The ferry to Koh phangan was also very smooth
