Max AI did manage to go from bangkok to kanchanaburi, but the part that was done by tara tour & travel was pretty bad. The people that work at tara are extremely unfriendly and they just drop you off at the busstation, so you can also just take a grab to the minivan terminal and buy a ticket there. The rest did go as planned although it took a bit longer.

Lily RBooked to pick us up at 11 but left at 11.30 but still got there on time :) Tara travel was a little hard to find as maps says it’s over the bridge on the right side but it’s the left of the road. Had to swap buses but got aircon and a comfy seat. Really lovely people

Lou SI got on a first mini bus that took me to another bus station, where I waited around 30 minutes for another mini bus to start.
I don’t recommend if you are in a hurry. As I was aware this could happen, it did not bother me. We got there in the end !

Marianne SBooking process was easy. We arrived at the Khao San Road office 30 minutes in advance, as advised. We were told to wait and left only at 11.30, half an hour late, when a man came out of the office who had already been there when we checked in and led us to a van that had already been parked there ever since we got there... he drove us to the bus station and showed us the platform where again we waited for quite a while. No one told us what we could expect, they didn't speak much english so information was very poor. Eventually the mini bus arrived that would drive us to Kanchanaburi. This was a comfortable van with good ac. Along the route we stopped a couple of times to pick up or drop off passengers. We arrived in Kanchanaburi around 5.30 instead of 3.30 as scheduled. All together it was a comfortabele drive but if you choose the 11am bus just consider it a travel day and don't make any plans as the time schedule means absolutely nothing.

Patrick MI wanted to go to Pranburi but the lady of the office decided I will go to a city 20km before it. It makes more sense to go to the bus terminal and buy the ticket directly from the bis company. It saves about 300 Baht.

Boy VIt does take you from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, but you will be brought to a bus station for a mini van transfer (without any verbal explanation however)
We were there 30 minutes in advance and the shop was still closed until 5 min before dept. time, but in the end we left precisely at the booked time
Long story short, we got there as promised but don’t expect any explanation/service apart from the vans.

We arrived at the adress but the shop was empty and obviously closed. We called the nulber but did not understand the response and then they hung up on us. People on the street saw us struggling during half an hour (because we arrived early as indicated on the reservation). They told us where to knock (a few doors up on the left) and the woman took 10min to open the door (i think we woke her up). During this time we looked at the google reviews and saw that sometimes they just took you to the bus station if the van is not full so we started to stress out. The woman was not explaining what was gonna happen. Finally, a van arrived and we were told to get in but further information was given, we did nog know if we were going to the bus station or kanchanaburi. In the end we arrived but it was stressful. We think that if people in the street didnt help us we would never have travelled with this van.

Isa LNormally we’ve booked the tourbus for this trip, but we were placed in a mini van instead. The reason that we got: ‘because this is shorter’. And indeed, it only took us 2,5 hours to reach Kanchanaburi! The drive itself was fine, no negative comments on that.

Gemma HOverall the trip was fine but as a heads up to other travellers; you pay the company and they shuttle you to the bus station, sort out your ticket for you and then leave you to get on a proper bus to Nong Khai, where you are met by a relative of one of the company who then shuttles you to the border with some info regarding how to cross. This was not bad or difficult it was just unknown to me :)

Sitt NThought it was a shuttle van going directly to my destination as shown in the photo but it turned out a bus which was not a convenient bus; less space. However you need not to worry about buying a bus ticket as an agent will accompany at a bus terminal and buy the bus ticket for you.

Attie SThe minivan was good and cool, but arrived 2 hours later on a trip to Ayutthaya from Bangkok that only should have taken 2 hours (should have arrived at 12.30, but arrived at 14.30). We had to wait for a long time on the bus station of Bangkok, this was not mentioned.

Linda KI was pleasantly surprised how clean and comfortable the ride was. Very cold which was better than too hot. Seats were a bit uncomfortable for me - one time a neck pillow would have been a huge help! The tour operator in Bangkok was lovely and we got water and a snack too!

Qin ZIt was OK. The bus ticket is much cheap if buy on the spot (500B). The bus is pretty old but as the travel agent said, she place the safety in the first place. With that amount of money, we can definitely find modern buses and better services.

Andre GThe agency itself is a very small and untidy place. The lady is bad tempered and don't talk to customers. The first van was good but it only took 10 minutes and they make us go in another van. The van second van wasn't good. It smelled bad and was uncomfortable.

Tom DBus was a bit late but that can happen. However I had to change to a minivan somewhere else in Bangkok, where I had to wait for more than 1 hour.. Trip with minivan was good, enough room and aircon.

John Van was old, lots of undercarriage noise, not very clean, took 2 detours to pick up what looked like friends or relatives. The 2 prime seats behind the driver were taken up by luggage rather than putting luggage in the back seat which had no leg room. But it got us there on time and the price was right. And we love 12goasia.
