L'autobus ci aspettava puntuale alle 21:15 al Central Backpackers Hostel, solo che la compagnia era Queen Cafe e ci siamo accorti di dover salire a bordo solo verso le 22:00, quando abbiamo ricevuto un messaggio WhatsApp da TechBus (perché l'ho chiesto) che ci diceva di salire. L'autista aveva i nostri nomi su una lista stampata. Il viaggio in autobus è stato tranquillo e silenzioso, i sedili comodi. Non ci sono divisori per le tende né porte USB, ma noi stavamo dormendo e non ci è dispiaciuto. L'autobus aveva anche un bagno, che è stato comodo anche se non pulitissimo. Siamo arrivati ad Hanoi con un'ora di ritardo, il che non è male. Il punto di partenza non era esattamente quello indicato dal biglietto del TechBus, ma siamo riusciti a prendere un autobus pubblico per raggiungere facilmente il nostro alloggio.

The bus was waiting on time at 9:15 pm at the Central Backpackers Hostel except that the company was Queen Cafe and we didn’t realize we should board until about 10:00 pm when we got a WhatsApp message from TechBus (because I asked) telling us to board. The driver did have our names on a printed list. Bus ride was smooth and quiet, seats comfortable. No curtain partitions or USB ports, but we were sleeping so didn’t mind. Bus had a bathroom, too, which was convenient even though not the cleanest. Arrived in Hanoi an hour late which is not bad. Drop off point was not exactly where our TechBus ticket said, but we were able to get a public bus to go to our lodging easily.

Il veicolo non è arrivato in tempo. I sedili erano comodi, ma non ci si poteva sdraiare completamente e quindi mi faceva male il collo. L'autista ha svegliato tutti più volte per chiedere dove dovevano andare. Era un autobus notturno quindi tutti si sono arrabbiati perché volevano dormire. Non comunicano con te, ma urlano soltanto. Non c'erano più letti, così un uomo del posto si è dovuto sdraiare nel mezzo per dormire. Orribile!

The vehicle came not on time. The seats were comfortabel but you cannot fully lay down so my neck hurted. The driver woke everybody up several times to ask where they need to go. It was a night bus so everybody got anoyed because they want to sleep. They don’t communicate with you, only shouting. There were no beds left, so a local men had to lay into the middle to sleep. Horrible!

Abbiamo rifiutato l'autobus limousine per il quale avevamo pagato, abbiamo mostrato il nostro biglietto che menzionava chiaramente la classe limousine ma ci hanno detto che non eravamo in lista e che dovevamo aspettare l'autobus successivo della Queen open bus. Poi, quando questo autobus è arrivato alle 22:00, mentre il nostro autobus avrebbe dovuto essere lì alle 21:00, era un normale autobus a cuccetta dove eravamo in lista. A questo punto eravamo molto confusi. Abbiamo mostrato il nostro biglietto all'autista dell'autobus. Più tardi, durante la guida, ci hanno chiesto se volevamo passare all'altro, cosa che chiaramente volevamo perché ci sentivamo in colpa per la situazione. Hanno chiamato l'altro autobus e alla fermata successiva ci hanno scambiato con l'autobus limousine.
Volevamo anche usufruire del trasferimento gratuito all'hotel nella città vecchia di Hanoi, offerto dall'operatore, lo abbiamo richiesto in anticipo e abbiamo ricevuto una risposta che era stato organizzato e che ci avrebbero portato al nostro hotel. Quando siamo arrivati ad Hanoi, l'autista dell'autobus ha urlato che era l'ultima fermata e che tutti dovevano lasciare l'autobus.
Nel complesso è stato molto stressante.
Il supporto di 12go è stato ottimo, abbiamo immediatamente creato un caso di supporto a 12go, hanno contattato Queen open bus e il giorno dopo ci hanno rimborsato la differenza tra le due classi di autobus per compensare la brutta esperienza. Grazie 12go.

We where declined at the limousine bus we payed for, we showed our ticket which clearly mentioned limousine class but they told us we where not on the list and had to wait for the next bus of Queen open bus. Then when this bus arrived at 22:00 while our bus should be there at 21:00 it was a normal sleeper bus where we were on the list. At this point we where very confused. We showed our ticket to this bus driver. Later while driving they asked us if we wanted to switch to the other which we clearly wanted because we felt bad about the situation. They called the other bus and at the next bus stop they switched us with the limousine bus.
We also wanted to make use of the free transfer to the hotel in old town Hanoi, which was offered by the operator, we requested this in advance and got a reply that it was sorted and that we would be brought to our hotel. When we arrived at Hanoi the bus driver yelled that it was the last stop and that everyone must leave the bus.
Overall this was very stressful.
The support from 12go was great, we immediately created a support case at 12go, they contacted Queen open bus and the day after they refunded the difference in between the two bus classes to compensate for the bad experience. Thank you 12go.

L'autobus era ottimo, come pubblicizzato. Tuttavia, siamo arrivati ad Hanoi solo alle 6:30 del mattino, due ore più tardi del previsto, senza che il traffico rallentasse il nostro viaggio. The bus itself was great, as advertised. However, we didn’t get to Hanoi until 6:30am, two hours later than we were supposed to with no traffic at all slowing down our trip. This seems to be a running theme with companies advertising transfer times that are extremely inaccurate.

Probably one of the best bus companies overall. However, the toilet didn’t flush and there was no water available for hand washing, which could be improved.

Our bus ride was a cabin 22 from Phang Nha to Hanoi. It was supposed to leave at 11:30 pm and arrive 8:30 am. This would have allowed for a good number of hours of sleep and not arrive too early. Instead we got a text saying the bus was now leaving at 10:40 pm. We had to get ourselves ready earlier but we made the bus. The bus was operated by Duy Thanh company. It had comfortable pods and I am 191 cm (6’3”) and was able to just fit fully stretched out. The problem was that there was no toilet on board and no proper toilet breaks were taken. The bus continued all the way to Minh Binh to drop off passengers and a few of us needed to use the toilet but there was no toilet available at that stop at 3:00am, and the driver said to use the alleyway next to some closed food carts. The place was crawling with many rats and just wasn’t useable. He looked at me like what’s the problem. I had to beg him to take us to a proper washroom but he looked like we were bothering him to ask for the most basic of needs. We drove for another 5 minutes and we went to a location that was on the side of the road but was dark and locked. The drivers assistant tried to find a washroom but what he found was dark space with a toilet and chickens around it. One of the girls used it and ran out screaming when she discovered chickens around her. This was ridiculous. There were no further stops until about 5:30 am where the bus stopped in the middle of the highway to put us 6 remaining passengers into a car to drive us the rest of the way to Hanoi. We arrived at 6:30 am. A time where nothing was yet open in Hanoi and not ideal time to arrive. I had only slept a maximum of 2-3 hours on what was supposed to be a 9 hour trip. Other than the comfortable bus, the rude driver, the lack of proper toilet breaks, and leaving at a time that was not the original scheduled time, this was an awful experience for a overnight bus trip.
