I had about 50 kg of luggage with me, so I thought flying would make the journey very expensive. Instead, I chose the low-cost option—and it turned into a great little adventure.
On 12Go, you can’t book a private cabin to sleep in, but once you’re on the boat, you can pay around $10 extra for a four-person cabin. It has electricity to charge your phone, and each bed has a curtain, so you can sleep in the dark. It’s also much quieter than the tourist hostel-style room with around 60 bunk beds.
I slept very comfortably and arrived at 6:00 in the morning.
Boarding was actually fine. A tip if you have heavy luggage: leave it downstairs so you don’t have to drag it up the stairs to your sleeping bunk.
I really enjoyed the adventure of traveling by boat. The harbor and check-in process feel a little chaotic at first, but that’s part of the experience. I’m glad I did it—it was definitely an adventure I didn’t want to miss.
I was on the tourist bunks, on top. It was nice. I fell asleep for a good 6 hours or so. The cafe is reasonably priced, great open areas for hanging out, watching the sunset and smoking. Overall a good experience, though the boat left the dock late and arrived even later, but I was in no hurry.
the VIP room I upgraded to was definitely worth it but I must say it was pretty hard to make the change. I came to the ticketing office Monday before the departure time (sunday) and was told they will request for it to be opened and would be in touch.
They did not reach out.
I went back wednesday or thursday after an island tour of 2 days only to find out the VIP seats are no longer available for Sunday and whoever I spoke with Monday didn't do what he said he would. Needless to say I was disappointed because I had to cut my trip short by 1 day of I were to get the VIP spots I wanted. I think this would have been easily avoidable if only I can go online and book the VIP spots straight out. The booking was comfortable and easy.
The prices are more expensive than booking it by yourself.
Zero information given about food, linens, safety, wifi access, and other things about the boat. No signage for directions. I was told incorrect information.
It is a long journey, but it is understandable since I prefer to travel by sea. I have a bed to sleep in, Wi-Fi to communicate, meals, and more. Traveling by sea, however, does not always mean a smooth trip because the waves cannot be predicted. Thank you for the safe Trip!
The staff of Starlite MV Venus have a bad attitude. The vessel lacks signage for safety cautions, and the facilities are filthy, particularly the bed; there were cockroaches. And I don't even get the meal that is supposedly included with my booking. Never again with Starlite.

I booked online last Dec. 26, 2025 for Dec 28 2025 11am departure however, there was no notification of the cancellation of the trip schedule involving Starlite Ferries. I only found out when we showed up at the counter 45mins before 11am. To make matters worse, the next trip 1pm was fully booked without consideration of those from the cancelled trip. We were given options which are all inconvenient such as refund (may take 3days or more on my credit card, or to wait until 3pm the next scheduled trip so our family had to eat at the pier for lunch. The overall cost of my online booking is double the validated ticket cost when they printed it out. I am so discouraged by online booking with 12GO if you do not take care of your clients.

It was good, but much too cold . Needed blankets . Could not stay inside the cabin . Too much air-conditioning. Otherwise very good.
The employees are all friendly especially the ones in the Cafeteria(cashier). I did not gave a perfect score because a lot of the foods in the menu are out of stock and the space inside the bed is kinda small.
I left my eyeglasses in Tourist BunkBed #38-46(lifejacket area). I've been chatting with your customer support. I hope you can also do something to expedite any updates.
The vessel was delayed for 6 hours. There was no announcements via email or at the port itself. The comfort room doesn't have a proper toilet and water for flushing. The charging ports are always not available or out of order. There was no privacy in terms of sleeping due to the open bunk beds despite being in the tourist cabin. The staff was helpful, though. Overall, I hope the list mentioned above will be acknowledged.

(for tourists, staying in tourist class) If you're looking for an interesting travel experience, then this will do it. The bunks are comfortable and sized well-enough for a 186cm male. bed linens are an extra cost, I forget now exactly, but a couple hundred pesos. No bunk screen was provided, but I did not feel unsafe or bothered by this. Everyone just quietly slept the overnight. The upgrade to tourist class, to be enclosed and have AC is a must.
If not renting bed linens, you'll wish to wear a hoodie for the night. I used my beach towel as a blanket.
I got cancel without Auto refund. I know you have a policy but there should be a consideration that there is no way for me to reach to the destination because the bus is also delayed. It was delayed due to bad weather

I booked a ticket for my 5 years old and mine. We were placed in two separate beds far from one another. 8 beds to be exact and both beds on the upper deck. How is that possible? A minor too far from the parent or guardian. This needs to be addressed.al
