Vientiane to Pakse Destination Reviews

The road is bumpy. Can't use toilet on the bus. Don't take this, book a flight. The only good thing was the bus was on time.

It was ok and on time but just for you to know, the bed is not that long, I'm 181cm and it bend a bit the knees. Also, there was no food and stops during the trip. There was small bottes of water.

We'd heard horror stories about the sleeper bus, so we're expecting the worst, but in fact it was pretty good. The bus has two decks, an upper and a lower. Each deck has bunks down each side of the isle. Each bunk is low to the floor with a thin mattress about the size of a standard single bed, but they are sold for two people to a bunk, so you will have to get cosy with whoever you're sharing with. It was, fairly comfortable and we did manage to sleep , so much so that I woke up to find the bus almost empty as most of the passengers had already got off. The only issue was the inconsiderate passenger on the bunk opposite ours, who thought it OK to play annoying reels on her phone with the volume turned up at 03:20 in the morning.

Bus left 20 minutes late. They did not stop anywhere for a toilet break. There was a toilet on the bus but it was not in a condition to use. Arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes early. Seats where very small and bus was really old and dirthy.

I booked with the most expensive carrier because it was the only one that had individual berths. Two German women I met bought the cheapest carrier for $12 less than I paid and we all were on the same bus by an entirely different carrier. I had to share my berth with another man. The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable but the road was smooth and we arrived one and one half hour earlier than expected.

It's a bit cramped if you're tall but was fine for one night. Arrived early which was nice. Lights go off pretty early which is annoying If you're not tired. No curtains for privacy either

I think the bus station is a bit to navigate. When it's not big or super confusing to navigate. The moment the bus is ready to board could be more clear.

Toilet was flooded, people behind us were puking, some were taking pictures of us, no privacy, bumpy ride, and they dropped us off in the middle of the road, not at the bus stop we should’ve been dropped at. But at least we arrived quite a lot earlier than expected so that was nice.

The bus was not the bus that was provided in the photos. Took a long time to confirm reservation. 12go said to be at hotel 30 minutes before departure - wasnt until we messaged the company directly that we found out we need to be there an hour early. If we didnt message then we would have missed our bus… bus broke down 30 minutes into journey and left us on the bus without any AC. Areived 2 hours late.
