The provider RG Adventure contacted us the evening before to say that we would be picked up at the hotel at 10:00 a.m. However, the driver did not arrive until around 10:50 a.m. and instead of the minivan we had booked, we were told to get into an already overcrowded open taxi, which then took us to a bus station outside Luang Prabang. There was no sign of the minivan shown in the offer there either. Instead, we had the choice of getting into an ancient green coach, where, however, there were only folding emergency seats left for us. Or into an ancient van for 11 people without working air conditioning. Our luggage had to be stowed on the roof because there was no room for it inside the van (the same for the bus). Although all the passengers were already on the van and we were already significantly delayed, the driver went to lunch first. At 11:54 a.m., we finally set off, almost two hours after our pick-up time and thus almost two hours after the start of our journey. Since the van's air conditioning wasn't working, the windows had to be left open during the trip. The road from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw is extremely dusty. All the dirt from the road got into the vehicle. We had to cough repeatedly and got completely dirty inside the vehicle. It was absolutely unacceptable! Although we were already running very late, the driver had no problem stopping at the market on the way to buy some fish for himself. With a delay of 2 hours and 40 minutes, we arrived in Nong Khiaw at 4:38 p.m. The luggage on the roof of the vehicle was completely dusty and dirty from the road dust. It was not cleaned, but handed over as it was.

It took over two hours to pick up all the people from their hotels. The trip ended up lasting over seven hours, and it wasn't even the bus with the comfortable seats, as shown in the photos. However, the driver drove safely and calmly, to say something positive.

The provider was on time and the driver was clearly experienced, and focused on the road. (Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw transfer) I was expecting a nightmare after most reviews, so wanted to add my own experience. The van was fully packed with people and luggage (actually we had 1 more person than seats and limited luggage space, which is why I only have 3 stars). When booking you are buying a seat for yourself plus space for one large suitcase. We brought a small carry-on for 2 people and it barely fit. So I do NOT recommend that you travel with a large suitcase! Otherwise the ride was straightforward. It is a very bumpy road but the driver was on time, did not mess around with his phone and we made it to Nong Khiaw on time. The drive itself was very bumpy but felt safe

The bus ride was very bumpy, we were only 2 on the bus. I was not expecting such a rough ride for more than 4 hours but we made it in one piece.

More than 1 hour late at start, almost 2 hour late by drop off. The road are awfull and the van is packed, there's no legspace at all. It at least get you from A to B, but thats it.
