Da Nang to Hoi An Destination Reviews

IM

The driver arrived later than the appointed time. He was 15 minutes late. We were supposed to arrive at our final destination at 3:00 PM, but we ended up arriving at 3:30 PM. Along the way, I picked up other passengers and dropped them off near the hotels. I started writing to support. They only wrote back, "Sorry." But you're the one who's sorry. I had all the events scheduled. Then the driver started taking pictures of me and telling other passengers that I was picky. (He was late and delayed my trip, and I'm also picky.) He sat the girl down next to me on the seat. He placed one suitcase between our legs and the second one on top of her knees. And this suitcase was in front of her face.

I had booked a shuttle for 12:00. At 11:00, the driver message me to ask where I was. I told him I was at my hotel. He sent me several messages expressing his dissatisfaction, saying I was supposed to be at the train station 30 minutes before departure and that I wasn't there; he was waiting for me. I arrived at the train station at 11:30. I have proof of our messages. He was not happy; no smile, no words,no Hello, no goodbye or thank you. Throughout the entire journey, he was talking on his phone, on Facebook, and making sudden stops. Bad experience with this driver.

I booked 12PM-1PM from Da Nang to Hoi An because I was planning to take a ferry to Cham island. About an hour before, my hotel owner told me I won’t make it in time for the last boat and urged me to take a Grab instead. Even though it was last second, the travel company agreed to change my ticket for the return route without extra charge. It was incredibly generous considering it was mainly my fault for not checking the exact times of the boat. I am very thankful for this kind gesture. The ride back was quick and smooth. It was a simple car but the driver was patient and brought me safely to my destination.

Train

Train is a often a great choice for long-haul travel especially if you opt for a night sleeper train with berths which will allow you to sleep all your journey through. To make the most of your train journey, choose the class of your ticket wisely.

Note that there are air-conditioned and fan-only carriages; private compartments for 2 or 4; hard and soft seats.
Though the upper class you get the smoother is your journey, often second class air-conditioned or fan-only sleepers are a good money saving alternative.

Things to remember: When travelling by van with huge luggage buying a separate seat for your suitcase or backpack is a good idea. Do not expect there is a roomy luggage compartment in a van - there is actually none and your fellow passengers are unlikely to appreciate your luggage stuck under their feet, alas.
