Ride-hailing apps like Grab are also available.

For exploring nearby islands, ferries and boats are frequent, especially to destinations like Bohol and Negros. Renting a motorbike or car is another option, with daily rates around 500 PHP ($9) for motorbikes and 1500 PHP ($27) for cars. Always negotiate rental terms and check local driving regulations.

Note that traffic can be heavy, especially during peak hours, so plan travel times accordingly. Walking is feasible in some areas, but sidewalks may not always be available.

For budget travelers, both destinations offer various options, but Bohol provides a slightly more economical choice overall.

How can we avoid crowds in Cebu?

To avoid crowds in Cebu, consider visiting during the off-peak seasons, such as June to November, which are less busy due to the rainy season. Plan your visits to popular sites like Magellan's Cross or the Basilica del Santo Niño early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Opt for weekdays instead of weekends when attractions are typically less crowded.

Explore lesser-known destinations like the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary or the quiet beaches of Camotes Islands. For dining, try local eateries outside the main tourist areas to enjoy a more relaxed experience. Use public transportation early in the day or later in the evening to avoid rush hour, and consider renting a scooter or hiring a private car for more flexible travel.
