We had an unexpected change at phnom penh which was not explained prior to or after booking. The first minibus was relatively comfortable and had adequate space, however the next bus which we had to be on for over 5 hours has little to no leg room, the seats at the back were awkwardly less than straight due to the bags pressing into them, and there were more people than seats put onto this van. A 9 hour journey turned into 12 hours.

I booked a ticket on a luxury bus and it had mechanical problems so they put me on a basic bus with poor air-conditioning. Everybody sweated for three hours. I don’t mind being switched to a different bus if it needs to be, but at least have decent air conditioning!

We were unfortunate and got a full 16 seat bus. Seats 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 are very cramped (we had 13/14). Bus left on time but picked people up in other areas of Battambang, so ended up in Siem Reap 40 minutes late.

Perhaps my favourite bus journey ever. Staff welcome you onboard, you get a bottle of water and a pastry, and the legroom is great, even for a tall person like me. I'm very impressed. My one suggestion is to use WhatsApp rather than SMS because I cannot receive an SMS on my number whilst is Asia.
