State railway department of Myanmar announced that passengers will be able to travel on Rangoon Circle Line in October by comfortable air-conditioned train, which was bought in Japan.

State railway department of Myanmar announced that passengers will be able to travel on Rangoon Circle Line in October by comfortable air-conditioned train, which was bought in Japan.

This second-hand train is equipped with five cabins with air-conditioners and 300 sitting seats. It should be more expensive, but more cosy than current 14 trains, which serve Rangoon line now. This route is popular through lower-income citizens, but in the period from October to May  it is also used by foreign tourists.

It is expected that train will make 38 stops on the 29-mile Circle Line, but their exact number will depend on passengers demand.

According to railway company’s assistant general manager Kyaw Kyaw Myo, new air-conditioned train will give passengers a chance to choose and will help the state railway department to increase its profit.
