Budget airline to start new service to Qui Nhon

VietJet Air has announced it will start scheduled flights linking Hanoi and the seaside town of Qui Nhon in April. A spokesperson for the low-cost Vietnamese carrier told media sources that it would commence daily flights on 26 April 2015 with one service in each direction.

The outbound flight from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport will depart at 10:25 and land at Phu Cat Airport in Qui Nhon 1 hour and 35 minutes later. The return service is scheduled to leave at 12:35 and land back in Hanoi at 14:10.

Spokesperson and vice-director for the carrier, Nguyen Thanh Hung, said that Qui Nhon was a visual delight and boasted a long and interesting history. He added that the new VietJet service would provide a convenient means of getting to Qui Nhon for tourists and business travellers alike.

Qui Nhon is a relaxing town with sweeping beaches and is located roughly midway between Hoi An and Nha Trang. VietJet already operates daily flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Qui Nhon.

VietJet Air launched passenger services on Christmas Day 2011 with a Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh service. The carrier has since expanded its route network considerably and in 2014 flew more than 5.5 million passengers.
