Bangkok Da Lat pilot flight set for take off

A Thai charter carrier is set to launch its maiden flight to the Vietnamese mountain resort of Da Lat. The Skyview Airways service is scheduled to take off from Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport on Sunday and return the same day.

Skyview has not confirmed its schedule for the route yet, but says it will eventually be a weekly service. Da Lat is the main urban area in Lam Dong Province and officials here said they will meet with the airline’s management team to decide on a suitable flight timetable.

For the inaugural flight, the carrier is using a 156-seat Airbus A321. Departure from Bangkok is on Sunday morning for the approximate 1 hour 15 minutes flight to Da Lat’s Lien Khuong Airport. The flight returns in the afternoon and gives enough time for passengers to take a sightseeing tour or play a round of golf at the Dalat Palace course.

Senior Lam Dong official Nguyen Van Yen said scheduled flights between Bangkok and Da Lat would facilitate tourism and trade between the two locations. Although Skyview’s principle sphere of operations is charter flights, it does runs some scheduled services on short and medium haul routes from its Don Muang base.
