Nguyen Van Binh, an assistant-director with VRC subsidiary the Hanoi Railway Passenger Transport Company, told media sources in the northern city that service would be available to passengers travelling on train numbers SE1, SE2, SE3 and SE4. He added that the service would be available from 20 January 2015 onwards.
The assistant-director continued by saying free wireless connectivity would be a boon for travellers during the Tet New Year holiday next month. VRC is collaborating with state-owned telecoms company Viettel in providing the service.
Nguyen Van Binh finished off by saying Viettel is installing hotspots alongside the track from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi. These should offer passengers seamless connections apart from when trains pass through tunnels.
VRC has already installed wireless internet services at the terminus stations as well as at several other key stations on the national network. Making internet available is all part of the government’s scheme to make Vietnam an ASEAN bloc leader.
