Jetstar Pacific to fly Hanoi-Bangkok route

The Vietnamese arm of low-cost carrier Jetstar has announced it will launch a new route from Hanoi to Bangkok. Jetstar Pacific will commence the route on 29 March 2015 and will use 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft to service it.

Confirming the route to media reporters recently, Le Hong Ha, the CEO of Jetstar Pacific, said it would provide travellers with low-cost fares on the perennially popular route. The CEO said the Hanoi connection would also give tourists access to destinations such as Da Nang and Nha Trang via Jetstar Pacific’s domestic Vietnamese network.

Until last October, Jetstar Pacific only flew domestic routes. On 27 October, the carrier launched services from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore. This was followed on 10 December with a daily schedule linking Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok.

Jetstar Pacific operates an all A320 fleet and has several more of these on order which will give it a total of 10 over the coming months. The new Hanoi-Bangkok route will expand Jetstar’s services to the Thai capital. As well as Ho Chi Minh, the group also flies here from Singapore, Melbourne and Fukuoka.
