Thailand Reports Drop in New Covid-19 Cases, Hurray

The number of new Covid-19 cases in Thailand has been dropping continuously – the country remains on guard but there is hope the measures undertaken have finally started yielding results.

While Thailand saw a drop under 50 new COVID-19 cases daily over the last few days, the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health are not going to lift restrictions which are being implemented in all areas.

Thailand declared a state of emergency on 26 March, 2020, and it is set to last until 30 April.

Currently, there are restrictions for access to risk areas, entertainment venues, restaurants and sights with the majority of risk areas have been closed indefinitely.

Land, sea and air entry/access points to Thailand are closed with the access allowed to limited groups with special permissions.

No large gatherings are allowed and many provinces are locked down with commuting between provinced restricted, too. In case you need to travel between provinces – e.g. to the airport, embassy, hospital, etc. – you will be required to undergo health checks and provide your personal details for tracking or quarantine.

A nationwide 22.00-04.00 curfew declared on 3 April, 2020 is still in force and will last until further notice.

All inbound passenger flights are banned until 18 April, 2020 – we will update on the situation.
