Phuket to Bar Land, Sea Entry & Exit

Governor of Phuket has just announced a lockdown of the island with all overland and sea passenger transportation barred from tomorrow untill April, 30 or further notice. Flights to and from the island will continue operation for a time being. 

All roads to the island will be closed for all types of vehicles and people except for ambulances and other medical and rescue vehicles, as well as vehicles transporting food, fuel and other essential goods. All vehicles entering the island will be checked for compliance with the Disease Control Committee's requirements.

All waterways will be closed for both domestic and international ships and people except for cargo ships which will be allowed to enter for a limited period of time necessary to complete their mission. The crew will not be allowed to leave their boats.

The ban does not concern diplomats on a mission and emergency situations. All people falling under this exception should have a valid medical certificate to enter the island. 

On March, 28, all Phuket's beaches were closed to the public. 

The Governor also asked both locals and tourists to stay home between 8 pm and 3 am.

All these measured are targeted at curbing the spreading of COVID-19.
