Wings Air to Connect Pontianak and Palangkaraya, Indonesia

Wings Air, a scheduled commuter passenger low cost airline based in Surabaya and a subsidiary of Lion Air Group has announced the laucnh of a new route from Pontianak in West Kalimantan to Palangkaraya in Central Kalimantan effective from April, 3, this year.

The service will be offered once a week on Friday.

Flights from Supadio International Airport in Pontianak are scheduled to leave at 3.20 pm and arrive to Tjilik Riwut Airport in Palangkaraya at 4.55 pm. The return flights will take off from Palangkaraya at 5.15 pm and land at Supadio airport at 6.55 pm. Flight time in either direction is about one hour 40 minutes. There is no time difference between the two destinations.

Wings Air will use their ATR-72-500 or 72-600 aircraft, accommodating up to 72 economy class passengers to serve the route.

It is the first direct flight that will connect Pontianak and Palangkaraya

Pontianak is the capital of West Kalimantan. It is home to the popular Tugu Khatulistiwa (Equator Monument) built over the 0 degrees equator line.

Palangkaraya is the capital of Central Kalimantan. The largest city in Indonesia if charged by the size of land area, Palangkaraya is very green. It boiasts protected forests, nature conservation areas, and lakes.
