A bureau spokesperson told media sources that the new market will be built on three acres of land adjacent to the Tran Hung Dao promenade. It will comprise 200 booths from which stallholders will sell souvenirs, clothing and gastronomic specialities.
The bazaar will also incorporate an entertainment plaza. Once construction is complete, the night market will open for business at 18:00 every evening and run through until midnight or later. The tourism bureau has not set a definite date for when construction will actually start, but says it will be in the very near future.
Although Danang’s attractions are mostly limited to the stunningly beautiful Nuoc Beach, the city is a gateway to locations such as the Marble Mountains, the ancient My Son archaeological site, Hue and Hoi An. Many visitors use Danang as a base for exploring and there are lots of quality hotels in the environs of Tran Hung Dao and the riverside.
