Nepal is going to organize the highest ever international fashion show with a direct view of the highest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. The show will be set at an altitude of 5,644 metres and is scheduled for January 25, 2020.

Between January 16 and 30, fifteen international models from different parts of the world will trek for 14 days to walk on the highest ramp of the world.

The show called Mt. Everest Fashion Runway will be held at Kala Patthar, a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site and a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori. The show is expected to set the Guinness World Record for “The Highest Altitude Fashion Runway”.

In the frame of the runway, KASA, an International Fashion clothes brand from Kathmandu Valley, will promote sustainable fashion creating awareness about climate change and its effects on Mt. Everest and worldwide. Clothing and designs made of wool felt and pashmina, all handmade, renewable, sustainable, and biodegradable will be presented. The company expectes that this record breaking example will encourage fashion industries around the world to adopt and promote sustainable fashion.

The fashion show is expected to gain international attention and promote Nepal as a destination for tourism as part of Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign.
