Maiden Trip of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express' Scheduled for Jan 17

This January, the capital of Maharashtra state, Mumbai and the largest city and former capital of the Indian state of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, will be connected by the regular Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express train.

The maiden trip of the train is scheduled for January, 17. Starting from January, 19, the express train will make its routine journeys between the two destinations. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will run six days a week. It is the second privately operated venture by the railways. Thanks to a wide range of amentities and modish facilities, the train will enhance travellers' experience. 

While the normal passenger trains can be booked 120 days ahead of the departure date, Tejas Express will offer a shorter advance reservation period (ARP) of 60 days only. Fares will depend on the season. Children under 5 years of age will be allowed to travel free of charge. Food and beverages are included into the ticket fare. The train will also offer complimentary onboard infotainment services.

Sitting north of Mumbai, Ahmedabad in connected with it via a 462 km rail stretch. It normally takes between 6h35m to 8h to travel this distance by rail.
