Uttarakand Food Festival to Take Place on December 26–29

A hill station of Mussoorie, Uttarakand, India, will host Uttarakand Food Festival 2019. The event will take place between December, 26-29.

The food fest is organized by Tourism department of Uttarakand state and The Times of India. For four days, from early morning till late evening, stalls will be set up along the Mall Road in Mussoorie.

While the Uttarakhand Food Festival will focus mostly on local specialty dishes promoting Uttarakand cuisine to domestic and foreign travellers, it will also feature international favourites. An array of delicacies from both Kumaon and Garhwal regions will be on offer.

The star attraction of the festival is expected to be a cooking competition. Two renowned chefs, Michael Swamy and Pankaj Badhaouria, will be the judges to choose the best stalls during the festival. There will be several categories in the competition including taste, hygiene, authenticity and decor.

Also, visitors are invited to take part in workshops and learn to cook Uttarakand signature dishes. Tasting demonstrations, entertainment shows and music performances are on the program, too.

Missoorie sits some 35 km north of Uttarakand's capital, Dehradun. It is about 300 km to the northeast from Delhi to Missoorie. Travelling by road, expect to spend from 7 hours.
