Currently, none of the airlines offer direct flights between the two destinations, hence EVA is going to be the first and only one. For travellers between Taipei and Phuket who now are bound to rely on connecting flights this non-stop service means a significant reduction of travel time by at least six hours.
The launch of the service is scheduled on April, 2, 2020. The route will be served by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft equipped with 228 economy class seats and 24 business Royal Laurel Class seats. EVA will fly between Taipei and Phuket three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Phuket will become the 13th international destination in Southeast Asia for the airline. EVA already serves about 40 international destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.
EVA president Clay Sun commented on the occasion: “Phuket is a world-famous travel destination. With the launch of this new service, EVA will expand its Southeast Asian network to 13 destinations, offering 145 flights every week.”
