New bus route links Vietnam Cambodia

A province in southern Vietnam has just launched a new bus route linking it to Ho Chi Minh City and the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. The maiden journey on the new route from Binh Duong took place on 6 December.

The luxury coach service is operated by Phuong Trinh Joint Stock Company and runs six times in each direction every day. Buses call at Vietnam’s second city, Ho Chi Minh City, en route. The first bus departs at 05:00 and the last at 17:00. The services leave approximately every three hours.

Tickets are available from the two terminuses as well as Ho Chi Minh and, depending on the purchase point, are either VND500,000 or US$23 for standard buses. Some online retailers sell e-tickets for travel on the route.

Passengers have the option of the VIP 28-seat buses or the still very spacious 45-seat ones for the journey. The total length of the journey is 260kms. A spokesperson for the operator said prior to the inaugural trip that the service was aimed at frequent travellers between the two locations as well as tourists.
