Online Booking System for Visitors to Be Implemented in Bromo-Semeru NP

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Agency will implement an online booking system for all visitors of the national park on a tour booked through travel agencies and tour operators effective from December, 1.

Travellers, both domestic and foreign, who visit the volcano by themselves, either alone or as a group but without an organized tour, will have a choice of either booking online round the clock or buying tickets on spot at the ticketing offices between 7.30 am and 4 pm.

If during a short trial period the online booking system proves efficient, it will be implemented permanently and becomes obligatory for all visitors. Introduction of online booking aims at improving services at the park, increasing transparency of the operations and facilitating management of the conservation area.

Currently, the entrance fee for domestic and foreign visitors of Bromo Tengger Semeru NP is IDR29,000 (USD2) and IDR220,000 (USD15.6) on weekdays, IDR34,000 (USD2.4) and IDR320,000 (USD22.7) on holidays respectively.

Located in East Java, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park includes the only sand sea in the country, a caldera of an ancient volcano, four lakes, 50 rivers and the highest mountain in Java, Mount Semeru.
