Taipei Metro Intalls Information Kiosks

Five major stations of Taipei Metro now have information 'Metro e Touch' kiosks to help passengers navigate the city.

The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation reports information kiosks with interactive digital screen have been installed at MRT Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan Station, Ximen Station, Dongmen Station, and Xinbeitou Station. These are the five stations with the highest passenger traffic.

The information passengers can get from the kisoks includes
– the MRT route map
– a complete stations guide
– station locations
– train schedules
– ticket information with costs and types of tickets and passes available
– bus transfer info
– the list of stores located close to MRT stations
– YouBike locations and more.

Currently the information is available in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.

In October, Taipei Metro also inaugurated e-Shops for quick purchase of tickets. The interface of the e-Shops is available in 12 languages. E-Shops accept 11 different payment methods and make the life of foreign visitors in Taiwan's capital way easier.

Earlier this month, MRT's Qizhang Station, Ximen Station, and Nanjing Fuxing Station have been decorated with special installations created by Taipei Metro and IKEA to create a “cozy and homey” feel throughout the public transportation network. The exhibitions are on display at until February 16.
