Three More Airlines Join City Check-In Program in New Delhi

A new facility at the New Delhi Airport Express Line metro station now allows passengers who fly GoAir, SpiceJet and AirAsia to check-in their baggage smoothly before boarding the train to the airport. Earlier the service was available for Air India and Vistara passengers only.

The airport express leaving New Delhi Metro Station heads to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi hence the check-in facility at the metro station is available for T3 passengers only. All the five airlines offer baggage check-in at the station for passengers flying domestically while GoAir extended the city check-in service to cover international travellers, too.

City baggage check-in is available 2–12 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight. After the check-in, the baggage is sent to Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 via a secured Baggage Handling System (BHS). The check-in facilities are located at the entrance of the New Delhi Airport Express metro station.

The service is provided by Delhi International Airport and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. According to the authorities, it will help ease passenger conjestion at check-in counters at the IGI airport. The trip to the airport takes 17 minutes allowing travellers to beat the road traffic.
