By 2030 the number of overseas visitors to Vietnam is expected to soar up to 30 million.
According to a report released by the Pacific Asia Tourism Association based on the tourist arrivals during the first two quarters of 2019, Vietnam is one of the top 10 Asia-Pacific tourist destinations. The report also mentions that thanks to quite simple visa requirements, Vietnam has emerged as one of the fastest-growing international travel destinations for foreign tourists. The country is also the fourth most-visited destination in Southeast Asia.
Another important factor that contributes to the constant growth of tourist arrivals to Vietnam is the country's openness and friendliness towards foreigners.
Besides a wealth of cultural and architectural attarctions of the two big cities – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh – Vietnam offers a wide range of beaches and islands with Phu Quoc being by far the most popular one; smaller heritage cities like Hue, Hoi An or Dalat; and endless opportunities to enjoy natural attractions – from the Mekhong's delta in the south to hilly landscapes of Sapa in the north and amazing limestone formations of Halong Bay, the World Heritage Site.
