Train Travel between Jakarta and Bandung Becomes Faster

Travelling by train between Jakarta and Bandung, Java, now becomes faster with a new Argo Parahyangan train laucnhed by the state-owned PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) railway company.

Now the journey from the capital of Indonesia to Bandung, the capital of West Java province and the gateway to volcanoes and tea plantations takes slightly under three hours.

The new service is offered in two seats categories – Executive (IDR 150,000 /USD11) and Premium (IDR 110,000). As the passenger flow between the two destinations continues to increase, KAI added more trains to serve the route and now  runs 17 trains per day. KAI's expansion goes in line with the government's program to make trains a main form of public transportation on Java, both intracity and intercity.

Bandung, once a quaint and picturesque Dutch colony is now a thriving, bustling, busy city filled with overzealous Angkot drivers, a wonderful amount of restaurants and street-side stalls, tea plantations, rice terraces, and even a few volcanoes just beyond its border. In true Indonesian fashion, the city is surrounded by incredible landscapes, mystical lakes, and truly surreal volcanoes. With insignificant temperature variations throughout the year, Bandung is a year-round destinations that suits the adventurer in everyone.
