Bangkok Hosts 20th International Dance and Music Festival

Bangkok International Dance and Music Festival, an annual extravaganza of performing arts, is on at the capital of Thailand right now. The festival kicked off on September, 11 and will run till October, 23.

Established in 1999 to commemorate His Majesty, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 6th cycle birthday, the festival started with just 6 performances and 200 artists. Today, Bangkok Dance and Music Festival attracts talents from around the globe. This time 20 majestic performances will be presented in the frame of the festival with over a thousand artists taking the stage in the course of the event.

This year the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary. Recognised as one of the most outstanding events dedicated to performing arts in Asia, BIDMF is an important entry in Bangkok and Thailand’s cultural calendar.

The organisers of the festival, the International Cultural Promotions Limited, are excited their brainchild grew up into one of the most highly profiled and prestigious performing arts festivals. “We are proud to continue to raise awareness and appreciation of the world of arts.  As the Festival showcases traditionally classical ballets, symphony orchestras and folk traditions, the Festival also features modern dance & music like contemporary pop and Broadway musicals to present an eclectic programme for all.”
