Buy 2 Get 1 Free High Speed Rail Ticket Tourist Campaign Launched in Taiwan

In a bid to encourage more international visitors to experience the country, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan launches 2+1 high-speed rail travel discount program.

The new promotion campaign held in partnership with Taiwan's High-Speed Rail Company targets all foreign travellers visiting Taiwan on short-term tourist visas or visa-exemption privileges. It promotes new tourist destination in the Central and Southern parts of the country and covers high-speen railway stations to the south of Taichung including Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, and Zuoying Stations.

Travellers taking a train to these stations between Spetember, 16, 2019 and January, 20, 2020, have a chance to participate in 'Two people travel together, one person travels for free' program.

The first time the Bureau introduced this 2+1 program to promote the region was back in 2018. The program enjoyed popularity among foreign visitors with Taichung World Flora Exposition, the National Taichung Theater, the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for The Arts, the 30th Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung County and other attractions in central and southern Taiwan reporting the rise in numbers of overseas travellers.
