Korla Longshan Park, China, Opens Glass Bottmed Bridge

The first 9D glass bottomed bridge opened to public in Korla Longshan Park in northwest China's Xinjiang Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture on September, 16.

The RMB 15 million (USD2.1 million) structure was completed in less than five months – construction works started in the early May this year. The glass suspension bridge of the total area of 420 square metres is 280 meters long and 2.2 meters wide. It hangs 50 metres over the ground. While Korla's skybridge yields to a more famous Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge in Zhangjiajie, China, above the Wulingyuan area opened in 2016, it is nevertheless impressive.

The bridge allows visitors to take in the beautiful scenery with a panoramic view of the city of Korla. The special sound effects of cracking glass that appear when visitors walk along the bridge add adrenaline to the whole adventure.

Korla is the second largest city in Xinjiang. It lies at the foot of Tianshan Mountains, northeast margin of Tarim Basin. Longshan Mountain of Longshan Park is located at the highest point in northeast corner of Korla. Embraced by flourishing green, the park has become a popular spot of the city. The nature sceneries around Korla are unique and astonishing, including the vast choppy Bosten Lake, Lop Nur, and Bayanbulak Grassland.
