Phu Quoc to Host Asia & Oceania World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony

Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony of the 26th World Travel Awards will take part on the island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam, on October, 12, 2019. Can't wait to hear the names of the winners!

There are 6 large categories divided into smaller sub-categories with three to 18 nominees competing in each sub-category in media.

The largest category is 'Hotels & Resorts' with 62 sub-categories; 'Air' has 25 sub-categories; 'Attraction' – 4; 'Car' – 3; 'Cruise' – 2; 'Destination' – 21; 'Travel Agencies & Travel Operators' – 11; 'Travel Technology' – 6; 'General', 'Meetings & Convention', and 'Rail' each have the only one sub-category. 

Our attraction was drawn to the 'Rail' category where Asia's leading luxury train 2019 will be chosen. Out of 5 nominees four – Deccan Odyssey, Maharajas' Express, Palace on Wheels and The Golden Charriot – operate in India and belong to the Indian Railways, IRCTC or KSTDC. The fifth nominee – The Eastern and Oriental Express is owned by Belmond Ltd, headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, but operating in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore

The World Travel Awards were founded in 1993 and have been held annually ever since with different categories added to the initial list from time to time. An international jury of hospitality experts and peers decide on awards given to a variety of hospitality companies and operators including hotels, airlines, car-hire companies, etc. World Media And Events Limited that runs the awards is headquartered in London, Great Britain.
