AirAsia Launches Direct Chiang Rai–Hangzhou Flights

Direct flights will connect Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand and Hangzhou, China. Thai AirAsia has announced the airline is going to start serving this route from December, 1, 2019.

Thai AirAsia will fly between Chiang Rai and Hangzhou four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. 

Flights from Chiang Rai (CEI) are scheduled to depart at 5.30 pm and arrive in Hangzhou (HGH) at 10.45 pm. In the opposite direction, flights will leave China at 11.50 pm and arrive back to Chiang Rai at 03.05 am the following day. Hangzhou is one hour ahead of Chiang Rai. Thus flying time is about 4 hours 15 minutes each way.

AirAsia Thailand CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said, “Our international network from Chiang Rai continues to go from strength to strength. Chiang Rai has become a well known Thai destination for Chinese visitors thanks to its fantastic tourism and cultural offerings and a unique way of life. We hope to be able to attract more Chinese tourists to Chiang Rai, as well as allow Chiang Rai locals to visit Hangzhou, China.”
