Flights from Beijing Daxing International Airport Available for Booking

Air tickets for domestic and international flights that will be operated from Beijing's new Daxing International Airport are now available for booking. Earlier it was reported that the opening of Beijing's new airport is scheduled for September, 30.

Currently, passengers can book domestic destinations including Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong province, Chengdu in Sichuan province, Xiamen in Fujian province, and Kunming in Yunnan province and international destinations, i.e. London, Helsinki, Fukuoka, Kathmandu and more. At the moment flights from Daxing International Airport are offered at promotional prices that are in media RMB100-RMB150 lower than tickets to the same destinations served from Beijing Capital International Airport.

The Beijing Daxing International Airport is located 46 km south of the city centre. It is expected to reach its full capacity by 2025 receiving up to 72 million passengers a year with a potential for expansion to handle up to 100 million travellers a year by 2040. This expansion will make it the largest airport worldwide in terms of traveller capacity within a single terminal.

The eye-catching airport resembles a massive shining starfish and does look impressive. Its 700,000 square meters area makes it one of the world's largest airport terminals. The interior design is characterized by flowing, curved lines. The openings in the roof allow light to filter  down freely to the lowest levels of the building. The airport train station and metro line located on the basement level connect the airport with the city center in 20 minutes.
