– Ihala Kotte – a part of Portuguese War Route
– Kadugannawa
– Peradeniya Junction
– Kandy – the island's cultural capital and a UNESCO world heritage site enjoying cooler climate amid vast tea plantations
– Gampola
– Nawalapitiya
– Hatton – the most convenient train station for Adam's Peak
– Thalawakele – a starting point for an adventurous trek to Horton Plains national park.
All regular daily trains from Colombo Fort to Badulla and Badulla to Colombo Fort will be running as usual.

News in AsiaSpecial train service between Colombo and Badulla will run till September, 1. It is meant to meet the demand for rail travel during August school vacations in Sri Lanka.
