Wings Air New Routes to Improve Connectivity between Bandung and Sumatra

Bandung, the capital of West Java province in Indonesia, now enjoys better connectivity with Sumatra after four new direct routes by Wings Air, Surabaya-based low cost airline, were inaugurated last Friday, August, 9.

Wings Air now offers direct flights between Banding Bengkulu, Jambi and two destinations on Bangka Belitung Islands – Pangkalpinang and Tanjung Pandan. All flights will be operated from Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung

All of these destinations are located on or near Sumatra island. Bangka Belitung Islands sit off its southeastern coasts; Bengkulu is situated on the southwest coast; Jambu is found on the east coast of central Sumatra.

There will be four times a week service from Bandung to Tanjung Pandan, Bengkulu and Jambi with a potential for further expansion if demand grows. Currently, it takes from 5 hours up to travel to any of these destination via connecting flights. Wings Air's new service will cut travel time to one–one and a half hour.

Besides, the airline is eyeing the possibility of adding new flights between Bandung and Semarang, Central Java to their network of routes.

The new routes will allow passengers to connect smoothly while flying to other destinations served by the airline.
