Tokyo DisneySea Launches New Flight Simulator Tomorrow

A new flight simulator will be launched tomorrow in Tokyo DisneySea. It will allow visitors to feel as if they were flying over some of the world's most famous landmarks like the Great Wall of China or the Egyptian pyramids. Would you like to try it?

It is an indoor attraction that takes guests on a virtual journey to some of the most prominent tourist sights in the world. Guests seated in an airplane-like cabin will be taken for a ride with pictures of attractions shown on a huge screen, the whole journey accompabied by the scents that match the various landscapes, as well as tilts and shakes to create the feeling of actual flight.

The new attraction is called “Soaring: Fantastic Flight” and it allows visitors to swoop over natural wonders such as the African savannah and tropical seas, too.

While other Disney theme parks over the world do feature similar simulators, there will be new scenes and visuals created exclusively for the Japanese park, including the areal view of Tokyo. The new attraction cost Tokyo DisneySea about ¥18 billion. It is a modification of Soarin’ Around the World, a popular flight-themed attraction at overseas Disney parks.
