The novelty got great support from the part of commuters and travellers who move frequently between different cities. With this new card, the convenience of travel will be enhanced as it will be no longer necessary to buy separate transit cards for each destination. No more messing up with many cards and 'frozen' money on transit card accounts: the nationwide transit card solves all these issues.
Last year, three regions of China, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei became the first regions to introduce a transportation card that unified fare payments for public transportation systems in the respective regions including cities of Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Hengshui, Xingtai, Cangzhou, Baoding, Handan, Zhangjiakou, Chengde, and Langfang.
Not only the card gave convenience to its users, it also provided access to any promotion or discount reserved for residents of each specific city.
It was the first important step in unifying transportation cards across the country that proved successful. Now the suit will be followed by China's other major cities as well.
