Airlines That Deliver You to Destination in Time: New OAG's Rating

A new "On-Time Performance Star Ratings" report of OAG, an air travel intelligence company based in United Kingdom, reveals the names of the airlines that are more likely to deliver your to your destintion in time.

The latest edition of airline punctuality report says that if arriving to your destination in time is of primary importance for you, you'd better choose Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines in North America, All Nippon Airways in Japan and Qatar Airways in the Middle East. Well, and we are not surprised!

OAG's report analyses airlines operating worldwide with a minimum of 1,500 operations a month. Only airlines with no less than 80 percent of scheduled flights with available flight status information within a 12-month period were considered. Each airline was gives a rating of one to five stars.

Airlines that managed to get five starts for their best on-time performance (OTP) represent 10 percent of carriers.

The top-performing airlines for Western Europe, the Middle East, Asia  and South America are KLM-Royal Duth Airlines; Qatar Airways; ANA in Japan; LATAM Airlines Group and Sky Airline respectively.

Five-star winners from Asia include Indonesia-based Garuda Indonesia and Thailand's Bangkok Airways. Interestingly, an all-time favourite, Singapore Airlines got only four stars for its punctuality. In the final decision on each airline's rating not only punctuality but also the overall volume of operations was considered.
