2019 Miss Tourism Worldwide Pageant to Be Held in Batam

Batam, the largest city in the province of Riau Islands, Indonesia, will host the grand finale of the 2019 Miss Tourism Worldwide pageant. The beauty contest is expected to draw participants from about 30 countries around the globe.

The grand finale is to take place on September, 22 at Pacific Palace Hotel Batam. The program of the contest will feature a talent show, cultural exchanges and a display of national attire.

It is the second edition of the show licensed under Singapore-owned Lumière International Pte Ltd. This time the organisers of the pageant chose Indonesia as the host country for the Grand Finale.

For Batam it is an important occasion that supports the image of the island as a world-class tourist destination. Riau Islands Tourism Agency has already expressed their confidence the event would provide very good branding for Batam tourism. This show will definitely receive a lot of attention from the global public, including media exposure and will help attract attention to Batam's attractions that include beaches, discounted shopping and nightlife.

Being a short ferry ride from Singapore, Batam is a popular weekend escape both for Singaporeans and Malaysians. While not the most picturesque of the islands of Riau Archipelago, Batam is home to the international airport and thus often serves as a gateway to the Riau Islands.
