Penang to Get World's Longest Water Slide

The Escape theme pfark in Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia, will soon feature the world's longest water slide. Construction of the new attraction is well underway.

Launched in 2017, Penang's ESCAPE Water Play is the aquatic version of the ESCAPE Adventure Play, an eco-themed amusement park. There are diferent aquatic attractions and swimming pools within the park and soon the world's longest water slide will become a new draw there.

The world's longest water slide is going to be 78 m high and 1,140 m long. It will be officially recognized as the world's longest water slide. At the moment the record belongs to New Jersey, the USA, with its 602m-long water slide in the state's Water Park.

The entrance of Penang's slide will be located at the hilltop. The slide will then bring visitors all way down through treetops and main roads to one of the park's swimming pools. It will take thrill seekers at least four minutes to land in the pool. A cable car will be constructed, too, to transport visitors from the foothill up to the entrance of the slide. It is reported that construction works was currently at 705 m height.

Two other attractions that are expected to open together with the water slide are Hill Rider and Tubby Racer.
