Buses will ply the 52 km route between Manali and Rohtang passing via the 3,987 m high Rohtang Pass. With the number of tourists travelling between the two destinations constantly increasing, the authorities decided to introduce electric buses. The ecologically friendly electric buses will help reduce carbon footprint and provide a more comfortable and sustainable way to get to Rohtang.
Each electric bus can accommodate 25 passengers. Buses will leave Manali bus stand early in the morning. Travel time to Rohtang should take about two hours. On arrival to Rohtang, there will be a two-hour halt with the return trip to Manali scheduled for afternoon. It will also take two hours.
Currently, HRTC informed that ticket prices will be INR 600 per seat. Tickets will be bookable online soon. The authorities promote this new transportation option as a more eco-friendly and budget alternative to taxis.
