Phnom Penh to Get New Shopping Mall Near Airport

A new shopping and entertainment centre, YT Mall, will soon appear in the capital of Cambodia. The shopping centre will cover an area of 30,000 sq metres and will be located in the vicinity of Phnom Penh International airport.

The developer of the project, Yuetai International Group, is a large scale developer from China. It has already completed several big projects in Cambodia including the 23,000 sq m The East One Residence project in the very centre of Phnom Penh, at the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Monivong Boulevard; and a huge 110,000 sq m The Garden Residence project located at Veng Sreng Boulevard, close to the Phnom Penh International airport.

According to the developer, the Stung Meanchey commune near the airport badly lacks modern entertainment and shopping facilities and the new mall will solve this issue. It will feature shops, eating outlets, restaurants and entertainment facilities to make it a destination for a whole family. The mall is supposed to cater for local tastes and attract mostly the local crowd though its strategic location may also be a vantage point to travellers heading to/from the airport and looking for quality shopping experiences.

The developer says the mall will feasture a simple and industrial design that will definitely appeal to the younger generation of customers. It is expected to be finished in 2020.
