During many decades the horse-drawn carriages in Pyin Oo Lwin, a small city near Mandalay, was the most popular and claimed transport. Even with the appearance of motorbikes and cars horses are still actual.


During many decades the horse-drawn carriages in Pyin Oo Lwin, a small city near Mandalay, was the most popular and claimed transport. Even with the appearance of motorbikes and cars horses are still actual.

The number of horse-drawn carriages have halved as opposed to 2003 year, when it was about 153 such carriages in the city. Pyin Oo Lwin Administration asserts that this alternative transport will not disappear in Pyin Oo Lwin, because it’s an old symbol of the city, which is also an interesting amusement for tourists.
