China Eastern Airlines' New Direct Flight to Link Kunming with Taichung

China Eastern Airlines is going to launch a new direct flight that will connect Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province, and Taichung, a city located in the western part of central Taiwan.

Flights will be operated twice a week, on Wednesday and Sunday effective from June 25th. A Boeing 737 aircraft will be used on this route. Flights from Kunming Changshui International Airport will depart at 8.30 am and arrive to Taichung Ching Chuang Kang Airport at 11.30 am thus taking between three–three and a half hours either way. In the opposite direction the departure time from Taichung is half past noon, arrival time to Kunming is 3.50 pm.

Taichung is Taiwan's second most populous city and an industrial hub. It is also a gateway for exploring the island’s mountainous interior, that includes several astonishingly beautiful nature areas like Sun Moon Lake, popular for boating and hiking. The city itself features a bustling downtown area filled with museums and temples. The ornate brick Taichung Station, a legacy of the Japanese colonial period, attracts visitors with its architecture.

Kunming is the capital city of Yunnan Province in southwestern China. The City of Eternal Spring, as Kunming afectionately dubbed, Kunming boasts balmy temperatures all year round.  With a history of more than 2,400 years, Kunming was also an important gateway to the South Silk Road that facilitated trade with Tibet, Sichuan, Myanmar and India.
