Yangon Zoo Opens Zipline Adventure

Yangon Zoo, the country’s oldest menagerie, launched their brand new attraction the end of April. The administration of the zoo hopes that zipline adventure will attract more teenagers and young visitors to the park.

A usual visitor of the zoo is either an elderly person or a kid. The administration of the zoo believes that the introduction of the new attraction will lure youths and the adventurous souls into visiting the zoo.

The zipline opened on April, 26, and since then about 600 people take a ride every weekend, though during weekdays it is not so crowded with up to 100 people flying the zipline.

The length of the zipline is 167.3 meter. The zipline is between 17.5 m and 20 m high – it is more or less the hight of an 8-storey building and passes over the lake. It has two thick cables allowing two visitors to take a ride at the same time. The maximum allowed weight is 111 kg, the minimum weight is 45 kg. Tickets are MMK5000 (weekdays) and MMK6000 (weekends), an equivalent of usd 3.5 and 4 respectively.

Another novelty is Quick Jump adventure offering a freefall experience from a hight of 15 m.
