Singapore International Festival of Arts Scheduled to Start May, 16

Theatre, dance and music performances are all here in Singapore for a fortnight starting from May, 16, till June, 2. Get ready for Singapore International Festival of Arts, guys!

What is this festival about? All things arty: from street performances to public film screenings. Who are the organizers of the event? The Arts House Limited.

Who will participate in the event? The best of local and international artists bringing to Singapore theatre, dance and music pieces and inspiring the audiences through great artistic experiences.
The first edition of the festival was presented to public in 2014. Since then, Ong Keng Sen, acclaimed theatre director and Cultural Medallion recipient takes the helm at the festival. This year, the festival is themed ‘Legacy and the Expanded Classic’. The theme explores the influence of the artistic heritage of the 20th century over today's arts. It also focuses on what the concept of 'modern arts' means now.

Earlier this year, a public engagement initiative called The O.P.E.N. (Open, Participate, Enrich, Negotiate) was held to help viewer to better understand and percieve the performances. The OPEN included public performances, film screenings, and exhibitions held over a span of three months. In the frames of the festival, 13 stellar productions will be presented to public during 6 weekends of mid-May–beginning of June.
