Admission Fee to Hong Kong Disneyland Rise

Admission fees to Hong Kong Disneyland increased by an average of 3% last week. The management of the amusement park declared it was a forced move to takle rising costs and compensate several years of losses.

New single-day ticket prices to Disneyland Hong Kong are HKD639 (USD 81.5) for adults, HKD475 for children under 11 y.o., and HKD100 for senior visitors over 65 y.o.

Some of the major reasons behind the price hike are operational costs and management needs. Until June, 24, Hong Kong residents will have an exclusive right to enter the park with tickets bought at original prices.

Through its fiscal year 2018, Hong Kong Disneyland got about HKD6 billion (USD765 million). It is actually 18% more on year-to-year bases and an absolute record takings for the theme park since its 2005 opening, according to its financial report published in February.

The main boost for income provided larger visitor numbers. Guest stays at the hotel and consumption also increased. In 2018 fiscal year the park was visited by some 6.7 million guests, what is 8% more than in 2017. The average spending rose by 6% and so did the hotel's occupancy rate, up 6% as well.
